New signing, Malian-born striker, Moussa Camara netted the opening goal for Rayon in the 25th minute before Burundian import Pierrot Kwizera took advantage of a mistake by Sunrise goalie Gahungu Habarurema to make it 2-0 in the 40th minute. In 84th minute, Camara saw the back of the net again while Frank Lomami came from the bench to seal the win with the fourth goal in the 91st minute. Elsewhere, at Kigali Regional Stadium, SC Kiyovu shocked Police FC with a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Djuma Nizeyimana and Abdu Omar Kurimpundu. Police’s consolation goal was scored by Isaie Songa. Meanwhile AS Kigali and DR Congo side Dauphin Noir settled for a 1-all draw. As it stands, APR FC continue to lead Group A with four points and a goal difference of +5, tied on the same points with AS Vita in second with a +1 goal difference. AS Kigali and Dauphin Noir have a point each. In Group B, Rayon Sports sits at the summit with six points, followed by SC Kiyovu which is tied on three points with Sunrise FC while Police FC takes fourth position with no point. On Tuesday, AS Vita face Dauphin Noir at Umuganda Stadium while APR FC will take on AS Kigali at Kigali Regional Stadium in Group A.
